Congratulations Allison Bell on reaching her Section X Varsity Basketball Career 1000 points! Allison received her 1000 point ball and LCS Circle tonight in our opening home game vs Morristown. Allison joins a very distinguished list of Section X
athletes who have met this milestone during their varsity careers. Congratulations Allison!

Monday we celebrated our new State Champion Gretchen Braun! Gretchen is the 2024 NYSPHSAA Girls Swimming State Champion in the 100 Freestyle & the 100 Back stroke events! Gretchen was also recognized as the NYSPHSAA Outstanding Swimmer of the meet! Gretchen competed this season as a merger athlete with Canton! It's been a great experience and we are very thankful for all the support from her team and coaches! They won the Section X title, placed 15th as a team overall in the state, and competed in relays and other events at States. We held a Champion's parade, Gretchen got to Ring the Bell (twice!), and we recognized her accomplishments and achievements and presented her with her State Championship Certificate. We are so incredibly proud of Gretchen & all her accomplishments! Congratulations!!

Students in the After School Program visited the Seaway Visitor Center at Eisenhower Lock in Massena last week. They were lucky enough to catch a ship passing through the lock system!

The Elementary conferences are by appointment starting at noon on both days. 7-12 conferences are from 6-8pm tonight in the big gym, no appointment needed. Please reach out if you have any questions.
Gretchen Braun takes home the 2024 NYSPHSAA State Championship title for the 100 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke events at today's meet in Webster!! We are so incredibly proud and excited for her and so grateful for the Canton Bears swim team & Coaches! Congratulations Gretchen & the Golden Bears!









Reminder! UPK-6 students will be released at 11:45 a.m. on Monday, 11/25, and Tuesday, 11/26, for Parent-Teacher Conferences.
Grades 7-12 Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Monday, November 25th, in the main gym from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Congratulations to Senior Gretchen Braun who was part of a collegiate signing day event tonight. Gretchen is a merger athlete swimming with the Canton team. Gretchen and Canton's Vivian Coburn both will be attending Division 1 colleges in the fall. Gretchen will be attending Northwestern University and will join the Swim Team.
Gretchen and other members of the Canton Swim Team will be competing in the NYSPHSAA Girls Swimming & Diving Championships on Friday and Saturday at Webster. Go Bears!

Picture retake day is tomorrow!
Information regarding the consideration of a capital improvement project for the main school building and for the construction of a transportation maintenance facility will be shared at a public hearing 11/21/24 in the school cafeteria at 6pm.
The capital project vote will take place from 11am-8pm on 12/17/24 in the main lobby.
We continue to improve our campus for our students and staff to ensure that they are learning in a clean, comfortable, and safe environment. This project work will also include the construction of a transportation maintenance facility that will service our diesel powered buses. This project work is critical to maintaining and extending the life of our school buses.

Lisbon Central School held our first Positivity Project Assembly of the 2024-2025 school year this morning for our Junior Kindergarten through 6th grade students. P2 assemblies are student-led by our 6th graders, who are put in charge of planning, organizing, and running our program. The Positivity Project is our school-wide character education curriculum dedicated to empowering youth to build positive relationships by recognizing the character strengths in themselves and others. Since the beginning of the school year, students have learned about Bravery, Creativity, Curiosity, Integrity, Open-Mindedness, and Teamwork. Today, students were honored and celebrated for demonstrating one of these important character strengths. Congratulations to our award recipients and our 6th graders on a job well done!







Fall Ball is just 10 days away for grades 7-12!
Gretchen Braun, from Lisbon, NY was named an All-American Swimmer for her accomplishments during the 2023 High School Season. A NISCA All- American Award is achieved by the top 100 swimmers in each event nationwide. This marks the first time that a Section X swimmer has received this award.
With her Section X record setting time of 50.53 in the 100 freestyle, Gretchen posted the 79th fastest time in the nation in 2023. This earned her All-American Status in the 100 Freestyle. In the 100 backstroke, she won the 2023 NYSPHSAA State Championship with an All-American Qualifying Time of 55.46. This was the 100th fastest time in the nation in 2023 and also earned her All-American status.
Gretchen and the Canton Girls Swim Team won the Section X Girls Swimming Championship on Sunday at SUNY Potsdam. Congratulations!!

Food Drive for the Lisbon Food Pantry!
Winter Sports Parent/Player Meeting Night is Thursday, November 14th at 6pm in the LCS Auditorium. Athletes and parents will have a chance to meet the Coaches, submit required paperwork, and we will have our individual team meetings. JV and Varsity teams will start practices on Monday, November 18th. Modified teams will start practices on Monday, November 25th.

The Varsity Girls Soccer tickets for Saturdays game vs Stillwater can be purchased through GoFan ticketing. The option of credit card payment will be available at the gate. Game time 1pm at Potsdam High School.
