Superintendent's Message

Parents, Family, Students, and Community Members,

We are well underway with another year of education and excitement here at Lisbon Central School!  The classrooms and hallways have been bustling with faculty, staff, and students learning and growing.  As we near the completion of the capital project we are enjoying newly renovated spaces and upgrades for our school.

With the new school year often comes many new faces.  We have given a warm welcome to all of our new students, faculty, and staff.  The new faculty and staff members have provided a little biography and photo to share with everyone to get to know them a little bit better.  I encourage you to connect with us on Facebook and subscribe to the enewsletter to get this Knightly News and more.

The faculty, staff, and administrative team continue to provide a safe and nurturing environment for all students and continue to focus on best practices for instruction in the classroom.  We are continuing to recognize our students when they reach their reading and learning goals both in and out of the classroom.  Our FROGS Program remains a favorite activity for our elementary students and I look forward to new initiatives such as the Positivity Project.  Emphasizing social skills and understanding the importance of treating one another with dignity and respect is something that we keep at the forefront of our day-to-day operations.

Students being exposed to rigorous curriculum and coursework that will support them in the ever growing competitive realm of college admissions and the workforce is a focus for the faculty and administrative team.  Courses offered to our secondary level students include a number of college credit bearing courses.  Participating faculty members and students are enjoying this level of learning and see the value in the college credit opportunities for our students.

If anyone is interested in becoming a member of a parent, teacher, and student group from the community please contact any of the offices to share your contact information.  The district is interested in increasing the participation rate of community members’ involvement in school activities.

Thank you for the continued support of our students and their learning!

Respectfully,

Patrick J. Farrand

Superintendent of Schools
