Lisbon Central School District will host a Transportation Maintenance Facility and School Improvements information session at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 13, in the Lisbon Central School Auditorium.

The purpose of this meeting is to present final options that the Board of Education will consider taking action on during the Dec. 15 Board of Education meeting.

The maximum cost allowance is up to $12,995,500 for a maintenance facility and improvements, and potential additional cost of $3,178,500 for bus storage. The potential impact to taxpayers ranges from $0.132 per $1,000 to $0.894 per $1,000.

The district bus fleet of 13 vehicles requires regular maintenance, inspections and service. These needs are being met through contracted services with other communities at this time. The goal with this project is to operate the fleet 100% in-house.

The district plans to construct a new Transportation Maintenance Facility and possibly bus storage. Improvements and upgrades to the existing school district buildings and campus have also been reviewed.

Residents are encouraged to attend this meeting if they have not attended previous meetings to review the final options for the district.

The district's goal is to construct a maintenance facility and potentially bus storage to maintain and improve existing facilities in the most cost-effective manner. As always, the Board of Education strives for projects related to student safety and learning to have a minimal impact on community taxpayers.

The Dec. 13 session will also be offered via Zoom. For information on the Zoom link, please contact the district office at (315) 393-4951 x 23185 or woodsk@lisbon.k12.ny.us
