Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Families,

We are so excited to welcome our students and families back to school! Hopefully, you were able to take advantage of a beautiful North Country summer with family and friends.

The start of a new school year is always a special time filled with possibilities and fresh beginnings. It's a time for reconnecting with familiar faces, making new friends, and establishing routines. I am honored to be a part of your child's educational journey this year as the new Elementary Principal.

Lisbon Central School is committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that enables every student to thrive and achieve their full potential. The Positivity Project/P2 will continue to be integrated into our classroom instruction as social-emotional support remains a focus throughout the building. Additionally, we are working closely with our new Director of Curriculum and Instruction to ensure our UPK-6 English Language Arts curriculum provides students with high-quality, standards-based instruction.

This year, all school supplies have been purchased for UPK-12 students and will be distributed in class on the first day.  We are thrilled to be able to provide this opportunity to our community. The only items families require are personal items like bookbags, water bottles, and lunch containers.

As we continue to prioritize the safety of our students, we ask that parents do not enter the building on the first day of school to walk students to class. An excellent opportunity to visit your child's classroom is during our open house event on Wednesday, September 6, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. It's also important to note that anytime guests enter the building, they must use the main entrance and sign in.

We kindly request that if your child requires an alternate bus arrangement, you provide a signed note from a parent/guardian or arrange to pick up your child before 2:40 p.m. We will no longer be accepting bus passes by phone or email. Streamlining this process and avoiding last-minute changes whenever possible will help ensure our students are transported in a safe and timely manner.

In closing, I want to express my genuine excitement for the upcoming school year and welcome back students and families. I encourage our school community to contact me at spearsa@lisbon.k12.ny.us or 315-393-4951 with any questions, concerns, or ideas to share. Your input and partnership are greatly valued.

Sincerely,

Alison Spears
