Parent Dashboard

Dear Parents,

The New York State Education Department (NYSED) has developed a Parent Dashboard to increase transparency and make information about school performance and other school-level data easier for parents and the public to access. The Parent Dashboard is part of New York’s Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) plan, which emphasizes equity in education for all students and expands measures of school accountability and student success.  This new dashboard will provide parents with information about their child’s school. The Parent Dashboard is now available in addition to the New York State School Report Card on NYSED’s public data site. The Parent Dashboard offers information on all public schools including charter schools.

2020-21 School Calendar w/ Cycle, Blue/Gold and Remote Days

Please see the attached 2020-2021 School Calendar that labels our Cycle Days (1-6), Hybrid (Blue/Gold) and Remote Learning Days (all students attend school virtually and faculty & staff will attend LCS in person). This schedule is to support our students, faculty, staff, parents and guardians. Please note this is a fluid calendar and we hope that before the end of the school year there will not be a need for blue and gold hybrid days at the 7-12 grade levels.

We hope this helps to clarify our daily schedule at LCS.

Remote Learning Days

In an effort to continue to support our student learners and the educators providing them with quality instruction that is meaningful and relevant, we are sending this communication to confirm the need for two days of remote learning for ALL students in grades UPK-12 on a monthly basis. Students will be provided instructional learning materials and assignments during the remote learning days while faculty and staff will continue to professionally develop and prepare meaningful learning tasks that will benefit our students during this time. These tasks will, and do, incorporate technology that is still new to many employees as well as the students. These learning management platforms and the strategies for learning that are incorporated into the daily instruction, in person or remotely, are essential to the growth and development of our student learners.
