2020-21 School Calendar w/ Cycle, Blue/Gold and Remote Days

Please see the attached 2020-2021 School Calendar that labels our Cycle Days (1-6), Hybrid (Blue/Gold) and Remote Learning Days (all students attend school virtually and faculty & staff will attend LCS in person). This schedule is to support our students, faculty, staff, parents and guardians. Please note this is a fluid calendar and we hope that before the end of the school year there will not be a need for blue and gold hybrid days at the 7-12 grade levels.

We hope this helps to clarify our daily schedule at LCS.

Remote Learning Days

In an effort to continue to support our student learners and the educators providing them with quality instruction that is meaningful and relevant, we are sending this communication to confirm the need for two days of remote learning for ALL students in grades UPK-12 on a monthly basis. Students will be provided instructional learning materials and assignments during the remote learning days while faculty and staff will continue to professionally develop and prepare meaningful learning tasks that will benefit our students during this time. These tasks will, and do, incorporate technology that is still new to many employees as well as the students. These learning management platforms and the strategies for learning that are incorporated into the daily instruction, in person or remotely, are essential to the growth and development of our student learners. Townhall Meetings, Statement on submission, Commitment Form, Reopening Plans, and FAQ

We know that there may be questions about the 2020-2021 school year that may not be addressed in our previous updates. With this in mind, we will be holding a series of virtual and in-person town hall meetings to address questions and concerns. An informational session was held with all District staff via ZOOM on August 12th. Informational virtual town hall meetings will be held via Zoom and on our Facebook page with the community to share the reopening plan and answer questions about the plan. Community members are welcome to submit questions about the plan through this form: https://forms.gle/RFVn8Q2sPJ6kUNXh9.

Questions can also be submitted in writing to the District Office or by calling (315) 393-4951. The meetings will be held on:

Tuesday, 8/18 at 6:30 pm (zoom)

Tuesday, 8/25 at 3:30 pm (zoom)
8/25 at 6:00 pm (in person-Auditorium & zoom)

-----
Note to LCS community: Our district was identified on a list released by the Governor's Office of those who had failed to submit reopening plans by the deadline; HOWEVER, we did in fact submit our plan by that deadline to both the DOH and SED. We have since re-submitted to clear up the error.
-----
PARENTS: Please complete the commitment form linked below to designate your preference for the 2020-21 school year.
----
Also, view the tentative plan that was submitted to NYSED and NYDOH. Please note, this is a "living document" and subject to change as the situation evolves.
